SUMMARY:Ophelia's Jump presents The Anarchist by David Mamet
DESCRIPTION:Ophelia's Jump Productions presents The Anarchist\, the 2012 play written by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright\, David Mamet. The production will be performed at the Ophelia's Jump Studio\, located at 2009 Porterfield Way\, Suite H\, in Upland\, from October 5 through 20\, 2018.\n\nNothing is quite what it seems in David Mamet's latest work. With a nod to his mentor\, Harold Pinter\, Mamet once again employs his signature verbal jousting in this battle of two women over freedom\, power\, money\, religion and the lack thereof.\n\nAbout The Anarchist: \n\nAnn and Cathy grapple with ideas concerning the individual's relationship to society\, the nature of redemption and the qualities of mercy. Ann is steadfast in her belief that people never really change and that "kindness to the wicked is cruelty to the just\," which makes a vice out of mercy.\n\n"Anarchist" exists on the peaks of a philosophical Olympus where ideas on eschatology\, etymology\, phenomenology and\, yes\, criminology are exchanged by intellectual (if not moral) equals. NY Times. \n\n\n\n	Direction: Cindi East\n	Featuring: (in alphabetical order) Beatrice Casagran\, Kimberly Kehoe
