With a nod to his mentor\, Harold Pinter\, Mamet once again employs his signature verbal jousting in this battle of two women over freedom\, power\, money\, religion and the lack thereof.\n\nAbout The Anarchist: \n\nAnn and Cathy grapple with ideas concerning the individual's relationship to society\, the nature of redemption and the qualities of mercy. Ann is steadfast in her belief that people never really change and that "kindness to the wicked is cruelty to the just\," which makes a vice out of mercy.\n\n"Anarchist" exists on the peaks of a philosophical Olympus where ideas on eschatology\, etymology\, phenomenology and\, yes\, criminology are exchanged by intellectual (if not moral) equals.
